In 2016, the Brookings institution developed 11 essays to delve into the critical issues facing all those concerned about globalization. Blossom was asked to develop an overarching visual identity for these essays, as well as specific covers for each of the 11 essays.
This important editorial release deserved a stunning design. We started with working on the overall project, determining a general creative concept and style that would have been coherent throughout the 11 publications. We chose to use editorial illustrations, as they allow to visually represent abstract, sometimes paradoxical situations that manage to describe complex issues in one only image.
For each essay we then developed a tailor-made illustration, capturing and synthesizing the essence of the topic presented.
In addition to producing the covers of the 11 essays, we also oversaw the design and layout of the internal publication.
